Young People

Growing up can be really challenging. Between the pressures from peers, school, and family, young people often face a host of additional stressors, such as parental time constraints due to work or other children, family separations, and the overwhelming influence of digital life with social media, gaming, and screen time.

Just like adults, young people sometimes need a safe space to talk and be heard. Counselling for adolescents is designed to help them navigate the emotional, psychological, and social hurdles they face during this critical period of growth. It offers a supportive environment where they can express themselves, build coping strategies, and make informed decisions that enhance their mental and emotional well-being.

Counselling for young people can assist with:

  • Mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, stress, and low self-esteem

  • Life transitions like changes in family dynamics, school adjustments, peer pressure, and grief

  • Identity development, including personal identity and self-concept

  • Behavioural issues such as managing anger, coping with emotions, and addressing substance use or other addictive behaviours

  • Navigating social relationships, including friendships, family conflicts, and romantic relationships

  • Managing conditions like ADHD, autism, and other diagnoses

Through counselling, young people gain the tools and support they need to thrive during one of the most transformative stages of their lives.
